CV NEWS FEED // The Museum of the Bible is hosting an exclusive premiere of a new documentary on the Megiddo Mosaic, the world’s earliest site of Christian worship.
The documentary, narrated by Bear Grylls, will be screened at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.
The screening is part of the museum’s exhibition of the Megiddo Mosaic, which opened in September 2024. The mosaic was unearthed in Israel in 2005, and dates back to the third century. The mosaic was used in an ancient Catholic church.
“This artifact includes the earliest known physical inscription acknowledging Jesus as GOD, alongside Greek texts that illuminate the roles of a Roman Centurion and women leaders within the church,” Jacqueline Schleppenbach, a museum representative, stated in an email invitation.
The film, she added, includes never-before-seen footage of ancient sites of worship.
The documentary details the significance of the discovery and how the mosaic became accessible to the world.
