CV NEWS FEED // Bishop Earl Boyea is inviting the faithful from across the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan, to a special celebration of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi this summer — inside a baseball stadium.
On Friday, June 21, Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Jackson Field, home of the Lansing Lugnuts minor league baseball team. The liturgy will be followed by a Eucharistic procession from the ballpark to St. Mary Cathedral.
The event will culminate a two-week diocesan “40 Hours Campaign,” during which parishes across the region will offer at least 40 hours of continuous Eucharistic Adoration. The initiative aims to cover the diocese in “continuous prayer and intercession for the full conversion of all the souls within our boundaries,” Bishop Boyea said.
“This is our moment to shine as a community of faith,” Bishop Boyea added. “Let us come together in mission as one body in Christ. Let us persevere in prayer and proclaim the Good News with boldness and joy. This is our moment to shine as a community of faith and I invite you to join us!”
Following the Corpus Christi procession, participants will have the chance to receive the indulgence granted for the Jubilee Year 2025. The diocese is encouraging participants to RSVP in advance.
The diocesan invitation describes the celebration as a chance for Catholics to be “Christ’s witnesses to the world that is longing for the fulfillment that can only come from him.”
