TRUMP IN VEGAS  President Trump visited Las Vegas and repeatedly praised law enforcement and first responders for quickly working to save lives. “Our souls are stricken with grief for every American who lost a husband or a wife, a mother or a father, a son or a daughter,” he told them. “We know that your sorrow feels endless. We stand together to help you carry your pain.” http://cvote.it/2yq1jlr

MOTIVE?  The FBI met with Mailou Danely, the girlfriend of the Las Vegas shooter, for questioning. She was in the Philippines during the shooting, but arrived yesterday into Los Angeles airport to interview at the FBI field office. http://cvote.it/2fLfMgz

BORDER SECURITY  The House Homeland Security Committee approved a border security bill that includes $10 billion for a border wall and adds 10,000 extra border agents. It passed 18-12 on party lines. http://cvote.it/2fLwHQd

GUN CONTROL  Members of Congress are considering bills which would outlaw “bump stock” attachments that allow semi-automatic weapons to act like an automatic weapon. This article walks you through the technology. http://cvote.it/2yq9f6a

DEMS FOR GOP TAX PLAN?  A group of 18 Blue Dog Democrats in the House are embracing some elements of the GOP plan to cut taxes. http://cvote.it/2fMPevu

MAINE SENATOR  Susan Collins is just one of two Senate Republicans who are pro-abortion. She’s thinking of leaving the Senate (good!) to run for governor of Maine (not good). If elected in 2018, she would be able to appoint her replacement in the Senate (likely not good). http://cvote.it/2fLgPNx

ALABAMA SENATE  A new poll shows Republican Roy Moore with just an eight-point lead over Democrat Doug Jones in the race to fill the seat of Senator Luther Strange. Former Vice President Joe Biden thinks the Democrat (who supports abortion in all nine months) will win the race. “When he wins this race, it’ll send ripples down the country,” said Biden. Looks like Democrats might spend millions on this race (and likely still lose). http://cvote.it/2fM2LDg

CONSECRATED TO MARY  More than two dozen dioceses will have consecrated to the Blessed Mother by the end of the year. http://cvote.it/2fLlMGb
