LOOP: Travel ban in effect for now, says Supreme Court

TRAVEL BAN STAYS FOR NOW // The Supreme Court blocked a lower court ruling which tried to cut back on President Trump’s travel ban. With the Supreme Court’s one-sentence order, the travel ban remains in effect — for now. Justices are scheduled to hear arguments on October 10 on the legality of the travel ban. http://cvote.it/2xjDVox

CATHOLICS BACK EUTHANASIA? // The board of the Belgian Brothers of Charity announced that they will continue to kill patients who “want” to die. The public statement by the Catholic organization directly defied a plea from the Vatican to discontinue euthanasia. The question now remains how the Vatican will respond. http://cvote.it/2xjnXKW

ANOTHER DEM CONSIDERS SOCIALIZED MEDICINE // And they call him a “conservative” Democrat. West Virginia’s Joe Manchin is the latest Senate Democrat to say he’s open to a socialist takeover of health care (known by the euphemism “single payer”). “It should be explored,” Sen. Manchin said. “I want to know what happens in all the countries that have it — how well it works or the challenges they have.” Later his office sent out a statement in which the Senator said he’s “skeptical that single-payer is the right solution.” http://cvote.it/2xjyDJt

  1. It’s great that people have donated so much for hurricane relief, but the final price tag looks to be around a quarter of a trillion dollars. At some point, it seems like we need to acknowledge that one political party has proposed cutting FEMA’s budget by $1 billion, a huge sum of the total needed here.
