GOP SENATOR MIGHT MISS FINAL VOTE Sen. Steve Daines, R-MT, said he will be walking his daughter down the aisle on Saturday, no matter what. An expected confirmation vote is set for approximately 5 pm Saturday. If Daines’ vote isn’t needed, the Senate will simply vote to confirm Kavanaugh. But if his vote is needed, the vote will be postponed until very early Sunday morning. (Another possibility: A senator who intends to vote “no” could cast a “present” vote as a favor for Daines, and allow all the senators to return home rather than wait another day for Daines to return. This happened in April when Sen. Coons voted present so that Sen. Isakson could attend his best friend’s funeral.) READ |
