PRIESTHOOD FOR MEN ONLY The teaching on the all-male priesthood is definitive, said Archbishop Luis Ladaria, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. “Christ willed to confer this sacrament on the 12 apostles — all men — who, in turn, communicated it to other men. The church always has seen itself as bound to this decision of the Lord, which excludes that the ministerial priesthood can be conferred validly on women.” READ |
OVERTURNING ELECTIONS? This is unreal. Italian President Sergio Mattarella barred a coalition of Euroskeptic parties from forming a government on Sunday after recent elections in March. HHS: 1500 KIDS NOT “LOST” A federal agency in charge of caring for children of illegal immigrants is pushing back at claims that they ‘lost’ 1,500 children. “These children are not ‘lost’; their sponsors—who are usually parents or family members and in all cases have been vetted for criminality and ability to provide for them—simply did not respond or could not be reached when this voluntary call was made,” said HHS Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan. “While there are many possible reasons for this, in many cases sponsors cannot be reached because they themselves are illegal aliens and do not want to be reached by federal authorities.” READ |

This poses challenges we haven’t confronted before and has made what once were relatively minor wrinkles in the law loom very large.” READ |

IMPEACHMENT CRUSADE Liberal billionaire Tom Steyer is on quite the quixotic adventure. Now he’s comparing his impeachment crusade to the fight against segregation. “So, if you look at the civil rights movement, the pushback was not, ‘You’re not telling the truth,’ the pushback was, ‘We’re dealing with it in time. You know, stand down so we can deal with it in time,’” said Steyer. READ |
