POPE REPLACES MARRIAGE INSTITUTE Pope Francis announced that he was replacing the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family with an institute for “Marriage and Family Sciences.” The new institute will also be named for Pope John Paul II, but will try to make permanent the teaching of Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis’ controversial apostolic exhortation.
