CV NEWS FEED // In a heart-warming and comic video, the pro-life advocacy group Live Action advanced a traditional, wholesome view of masculinity in a locker room scene.
The video shows an alternative view of strong men who are neither “toxic” and demeaning to women nor effeminate.
The three-minute video skit features a man asking the other men in his locker room for dating advice. He plans to ask a girl out on a first date and implies that all he wants from her is sex.
The other men in the locker room are all married, and each time the man makes an innuendo about his date, the married men comedically “misinterpret” his statements in a wholesome light, praising women for their hearts, minds, and talents. Each of the married men talks about how he can be a better husband and support his wife.
The younger man grows increasingly frustrated with the other men, and at the end of the video demands “What kind of men are you?”
It ends with the text “#ProLifeMen” over a black screen.
As a pro-life advocacy group, Live Action publishes videos on abortion and pro-life issues, but it also publishes interviews and podcasts on related topics like pornography and hook-up culture.
Their website states: “Through compelling educational media, human interest storytelling, and investigative reporting, we reveal the humanity of the preborn and expose the abortion industry’s exploitation of women for profit.”
