CV NEWS FEED // Lila Rose debated 25 individuals in the most recent episode of YouTube channel Jubilee’s “Surrounded” series.
The YouTube series features one guest with a controversial opinion and 25 other participants who hold the opposing view. The guest sits in the middle of the room, and the other participants sit in a circle around the guest. The other participants must race to hold the seat to debate the guest, and debate for either 20 minutes or until 12 other participants raise a flag, at which point somebody else can volunteer to debate.
Rose and the participants debated five propositions: “Abortion leaves women scarred for life; Abortion cannot be justified under any circumstance; Every unborn child has the right to life; Abortion is unconstitutional and should be banned; Bodily autonomy is the prevailing right in the abortion debate.”
Rose debated a lawyer, a former abortion facility worker and women who underwent abortions.
Rose stated, “It’s essential for the rule of law, for justice, for human rights that we are cautious to protect the rights of those who are dependent and weak because if we live in a society that just says the strong get to choose what they want because they can, that’s not a just or a loving society.”
Many of the users in the comments section of the video noted that even though many of the participants grew angry and shouted, Rose maintained her composure throughout the episode.
