CV NEWS FEED // A pro-LGBTQ polling group attempted to hide the results of their own polling after they found a majority of Americans oppose subjecting children to sexual surgeries.
A new poll from the liberal group Change Research based out of San Francisco shows that Americans reject giving hormone-blockers and other drugs associated with so-called “gender-affirming care” to children.
Journalists with Daily Mail say the results did not fit the agenda that Change wanted, so the pollsters are now attempting to hide the results.
“Lead pollster Betsy App called the results ‘bad news,’ saying the team would struggle to ‘educate’ the public about sex-reassignment for kids,” Daily Mail reported. “She said it was time for ‘rebranding puberty blockers’ with a less-divisive term.”
Change Research initially invited reporters from DailyMail.com to attend the webinar in which they discussed the polls results, and then disinvited them; however, the reporters still attended, using a personal email address.
“The webinar indicated that Change Research wanted to conceal its results — with the stated goal of reshaping US attitudes on gender ideology and trans treatments on kids,” Daily Mail reported.
Instead of respecting the opinions of the public, Change implied “that the public was wrong to oppose sex reassignment treatments for minors, and that they were on a mission to alter attitudes.”
That mission includes “rebranding puberty blockers,” because it “is a term that’s not doing us any favors.”
CatholicVote recently covered a poll from the left-wing Washington Post that also found most Americans oppose the “trans” policy agenda for kids.
The Post poll found that of all adults surveyed,
57% stated that “whether someone is a man or a woman is determined by the sex they were assigned at birth.” By contrast, 43% held the “trans” activist view that “someone can be a man or a woman even if that is different from the sex they were assigned at birth.”
The majority of Americans also believe that children should not be subjected to so-called “gender-affirming care” at all.
Regarding “trans” policies, 68% of respondents opposed subjecting children ages 10 to 14 to puberty blockers. A slightly smaller but still healthy majority of 58% opposed hormonal “gender-affirming care” for minors between the ages of 15 and 17.
The poll also showed that 77% of respondents
thought that it was “inappropriate to discuss trans identity in public schools with students” from kindergarten through the third grade – the same grades covered under the Florida statute. Seventy percent of respondents further believed that “trans identity” should not be discussed in fourth- or fifth-grade classrooms, and a slim majority of 52% deemed this topic inappropriate for middle school students.
While Daily Mail reported that Change asked reporters not to make the results of their poll “‘widely available” and urged attendees not to ‘share these findings,’” polls continue to show evidence that Americans oppose the “trans” agenda.
