The Knights of Columbus are inviting Catholics around the world to pray a Sacred Heart novena for Pope Leo XIV this month.
The devotion will run June 19-27, bridging the anniversary of the Pope’s priestly ordination with the Church’s celebration of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart.
The Knights are inviting all to participate by pledging prayers and submitting personal intentions through their website. Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly will carry those intentions to Rome in October as part of a Jubilee pilgrimage, according to a press release from the organization.
The timing also coincides with the 350th anniversary of the final revelation received by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, whose visions of Christ’s love helped ignite widespread devotion to the Sacred Heart.
In addition to the novena, participants are encouraged to pray with Pope Leo’s prayer intention for June: “[T]hat each one of us might find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus, and from His Heart, learn to have compassion on the world.”
Those wishing to take part in the novena can sign up and submit intentions here.
