The Massachusetts Knights of Columbus decided not to participate in Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday because they felt that their motives for participating were being misrepresented.
The Knights were accused by some Catholics of wanting to participate in the parade to give “cover” to a gay activist group that was marching this year.
The Knights deny this outright, claiming that they wanted to march in defense of the Faith and have someone in the parade who continues to stand for Catholic teaching.
However, due to the campaign against the Knights accusing them of helping the gay activist group, they withdrew from the parade rather than have their presence cause confusion due to the misrepresentations.
This is terrible. Go team.
