CV NEWS FEED // Harrison Butker, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker, has surpassed teammate Travis Kelce in NFL merchandise sales this spring, according to the NFL Players Association’s list released on September 17.
According to a September 19 report from US Weekly, this is Butker’s first appearance on the list, making him only the second placekicker in history to reach the top 50, following Evan McPherson of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022.
The rankings reflect sales of adult and youth game jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, bobbleheads, and other merchandise from March 1 to May 31.
According to the report, Butker ranked No. 11 in player sales.
Notably, Butker is an active member of the Catholic Church, and on May 11 delivered the Commencement address for the class of 2024 at Benedictine College, as reported by CatholicVote.
Kelce follows at No. 12, despite recent fame garnered from his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift, who recently endorsed democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, as CatholicVote reported.
Despite receiving significant backlash for his Commencement address, Butker signed a new four-year, $26.5 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, making him the highest-paid kicker in NFL history, as CatholicVote reported in August.
