CV NEWS FEED // A group of Connecticut parents published an updated list of school districts whose policies bar education officials from disclosing children’s “transgender status” to their parents.
In its research, Parents Defending Education (PDE) uncovered 26 school districts in Connecticut, including those controlled by the Capitol Region Education Council in Hartford, whose policies override parental consent.
Many of the schools lifted their policies straight from the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) policy service, according to a report from the Connecticut Centinal.
A policy in CABE’s list specifically tells educators not to inform parents if their children decide to identify as “transgender” or “gender non-comforming,” unless they are legally compelled to do so.
“All persons, including students, have a right to privacy,” the policy reads. “This includes the right to keep private one’s transgender status or gender non-conforming presentation at school. Information about a student’s transgender status, legal name, or gender assigned at birth also may constitute confidential medical information.”
It continues: “School personnel should not disclose information that may reveal a student’s transgender status or gender non-conforming presentation to others, including parents and other school personnel, unless legally required to do so or unless the student has authorized such disclosure.”
In addition, CABE’s policies promote inclusion of biological males in female sports and access to designated female spaces.
CABE also touts conformity with other radical left agenda such as the “Equity Toolkit,” which pushes critical race theory in school curriculum.
