Fireworks, barbeque, and abortion?
That all makes sense to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, apparently.
Taking to Twitter to announce his plans, Schumer said he intends to spend this Fourth of July celebrating Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court’s 1973 landmark decision that made abortion legal and accessible in all 50 states.
“Today, I am celebrating the FREEDOM of women to make their own health care decisions, as established by the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade,” tweeted Schumer…
Ever since Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement last Wednesday, Democrats and pundits have been sounding the alarm that any Trump-nominated justice might be ready and willing to overturn Roe v. Wade, and Schumer is clearly concerned that Obergefell might also be on the endangered list.
