Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that the 20-week abortion ban had the support of “virtually all of my members and we expect to have a vote on it.”
“It’s supported by virtually all of my members, and we expect to have a vote on it at some point,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said.
The bill, also known as the Pain-Capable Child Protection Act, the 20-week abortion ban states that no unborn baby past 20 weeks gestation can be aborted except in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. Abortion providers that violate the law will be penalized and could be sentenced to five years in prison.
