In the end, this lecture of Cecile Richards served its purpose. Very little, apparently, can be said in defense of the activities of Planned Parenthood. I am not sure that Richards should not be encouraged to go about speaking her piece. Few who listen carefully will be fooled by the silences and the absences. No perceptive listener would think that the argument as presented makes much sense. It is nothing other than a preppy justification for what cannot be justified.
To make no attempt even to mention why the killing of a human baby is alright speaks volumes. I, for one, am pleased to have this lecture. In carefully not addressing what needed to be addressed before such an audience, it made me suspect that, deep down, Cecile Richards did know what she was about, but was embarrassed to speak of it.
