Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-CA, erroneously claimed that between “200,000 and 1.2 million” women died from illegal abortions before the 1973 Supreme Court decision which forced all 50 states to legalize abortion.
During today’s confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, pro-abortion California Senator Diane Feinstein made false claims about the number of women supposedly dying from illegal abortions. Her allegation comes one day after she erroneously claimed during hearings on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh that she sentenced women to jail for having illegal abortions.
Feinstein claimed “a lot of women died” from illegal abortions before Roe and pegged the figures at between “200,000 and 1.2 million.”
“Deaths from illegal abortions in this country ran between 200,000 and 1.2 million … so, a lot of women died in that period,” Feinstein falsely claimed.
