Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, said it could result in real problems for the GOP in the mid-term elections, if they refused to act on Obamacare. Cruz was asked if Republican senators should be worried about their electoral fates if they don’t act on Obamacare.
“If they’re not, they should be,” Cruz said on Fox News when asked if Republicans should be worried about the 2018 elections. “You’re exactly right, voters should hold us accountable.”
“I’ve said many times if we fail to get this done, I think collectively Republicans will look like fools,” he added. “You can’t have your central promise for seven years be we’ll repeal Obamacare, and then you show up and vote not even to take up the bill to consider repealing Obamacare.”
