CV NEWS FEED // EWTN will feature the National Shrine of St. Jude — a devotional space located within Chicago’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church — in an upcoming episode of its “Hidden Gems” series.
The new episode, “Hidden Gems: The National Shrine of St. Jude,” will air on EWTN on Monday, October 28, at 11:30 a.m. EST, according to an October 23 press release provided by the Claretian Missionaries, who founded the Shrine in 1929.
The Claretian Missionaries is an order of priests and brothers that began in 1849. They serve the poor and vulnerable in 72 countries, “responding to the most urgent needs of God’s people and transforming communities through faith and social justice.”
This broadcast date holds particular importance, as it coincides with the Feast of St. Jude, a day that invites the faithful to celebrate and pray to the saint known as the patron of hopeless causes. According to the press release, “More than three million people participate in this community of prayer,” with the shrine serving as a center for the devotion.
“The National Shrine of St. Jude is a remarkable place of hope and miracles that people need to learn about,” said Michael O’Neil, a producer at EWTN, according to the news release. “The Hidden Gems series provides Catholics from the United States with the opportunity to discover, and then hopefully visit, these great treasures of our faith.”
