CV NEWS FEED // The Diocese of Cleveland is gearing up for its ninth annual #weGiveCatholic fundraiser, to be held on Tuesday, December 3, as part of Giving Tuesday, the global day of generosity.
This online giving event supports the 244 Catholic schools, parishes, charities, and nonprofits across the diocese’s eight-county region.
“Let’s come together on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, to raise awareness and inspire our Catholic community to generosity in support of Catholic parishes, Catholic schools, Catholic Charities sites/programs and Catholic nonprofits in our region,” stated Bishop Edward C Malesic.
This year, funds will support projects such as a new playground for the St. Augustine Child Enrichment Center, refurbishment of the historic organ at St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, and school trip funding for students at St. Aloysius School and Mary Queen of Peace Parish.
Additional participants include Catholic Charities’ Fatima Family Center, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeastern Ohio, Holy Family Hospice, and many other schools, parishes, and ministries.
Donors can contribute to their favorite Catholic organizations starting November 23, with secure, tax-deductible donations accepted through credit cards, bank debits, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, and other platforms. Contributions via donor-advised funds and IRA accounts are also accepted, according to the diocese.
Organized by the Catholic Community Foundation, #weGiveCatholic focuses on raising funds and awareness for Catholic ministries while fostering a spirit of unity across the diocese.
Participating organizations will also compete for prizes throughout the day to amplify their fundraising efforts.
