CV NEWS FEED // A British survey of U.K. citizens’ self-identified sexual orientation revealed that same-sex attraction is not genetic, according to the Daily Compass.
The news outlet reported that between 2018 and 2023, which is the most recent data report from the Annual Population Survey, the percentage of U.K. citizens aged 16 or older who identified as lesbian, gay, or bisexual went from 2.2% to 3.8%. Among young people aged 16-24, the percentage went from 4.4% in 2018 to 10.4% in 2023.
“What do these data tell us? That homosexuality is not genetic, it is not a natural variable of sexual orientation, but the result of conditioning,” the Daily Compass reported. “If it were a genetic/natural fact, we would have the same proportion of homosexuals over time. Instead, we find that the number of young homosexuals has increased by 6 percentage points in just five years.”
Data from the survey, which was conducted anonymously, also showed that significantly more young people identified as lesbian, gay, or bisexual than older people did. In 2023, only 0.9% of senior citizens identified as such.
“If homosexuality were a natural condition, because it is innate, we should find the same percentage of homosexuals in each age group,” the Daily Compass reported. “But this is not the case. And other statistics in other countries confirm this: the largest proportion of homosexuals is to be found in the youth group.”
The Daily Compass attributed the stark difference between the sexual orientation of younger and older demographics to the “social phenomenon” of same-sex attraction. The data also found that bisexual-identifying people largely accounted for the increase in same-sex attracted individuals between 2018 and 2023, which the outlet said constitutes “proof that homosexuality is a social construct, not a natural inclination.”
The Daily Compass concluded, “These data confirm that ideology describes a ‘reality’ which reality then denies.”
