RELIGIOUS LIBERTY // The U.S. Bishops criticize President Trump’s decision to retain Obama’s “deeply flawed executive order” on LGBT employment. “The Church steadfastly opposes all unjust discrimination, and we need to continue to advance justice and fairness in the workplace. Executive Order 13672, however, creates problems rather than solves them. In seeking to remedy instances of discrimination, it creates new forms of discrimination against people of faith. Keeping the Executive Order intact is not the answer,” said Archbishops Charles Chaput and William Lori. http://cvote.it/2jY9gU3
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY // But is President Trump about to release an executive order which would restore religious liberty? That’s the rumor around Washington. A liberal website is reporting that they have a ‘draft’ of the proposed executive order. They of course are deeply disturbed by such an executive order, but it would be welcomed by Catholics. NOTE: There’s no guarantee that this is authentic or that this will happen. You can read the liberal website’s report for yourself: http://cvote.it/2jXUOeT

CABINET // Two Republican Senators have announced they are voting against the confirmation of Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education. Every Democrat is expected to vote no. With just 52 Republicans in the Senate, Vice President Mike Pence might have to cast break a 50-50 tie vote on Friday. Ironically, the decision of Democrats to delay the confimation of Senator Jeff Session as Attorney General will allow him to vote for Betsy DeVos. Oh, and the two Republicans voting against DeVos? They received money from teachers unions. http://cvote.it/2jY8Ixt
