Forrest Frank, a popular Christian musician who headlined at the 2025 Catholic young adult conference SEEK, is performing again and praising Jesus for an inexplicably quick recovery after he fractured his back in a skateboarding accident just last month.
Following his remarkable, Frank managed to make Iowa State Fair history this week, according to the Des Moines Register. Frank performed for nearly 16,000 fans at the fair Aug. 7 in a sold-out Grandstand Concert Hall, making him the first Christian music act to fill the stadium to its capacity at the annual fair.
The 30-year-old singer released his first songs — many of which offer a pop, hip-hop, sound combined with Christian lyrics — in 2022 and has since produced numerous songs that now have more than 60 million listens on Spotify. His music became especially popular across a wave of Gen Zers, including attendees of the Salt Lake City-based SEEK who were enthusiastic to see him live.
On July 19, Frank posted to his Instagram that he was in recovery after fracturing two vertebrae while skateboarding with his 2-year-old son. He shared a video of the fall, caught on the home camera, and wrote in the caption of the post that he is “thankful to God that it wasn’t any worse.”
In a separate post, he expressed gratitude for prayers amid his situation, sharing that while the fractures have caused intense daily pain, “Jesus has been getting us through it… today is the day that the Lord has made,” he said in the caption, “I will rejoice and be glad in it!!!!”
While in recovery, he continued making music, including a collaborative song with “The Figs” called “LEMONADE” that reached #1 across all genres for a time after its release. He also released a song titled “GOD’S GOT MY BACK,” which he wrote while bedridden. In a separate Instagram video, he initially laughed at the line as being “low-hanging fruit” when he started brainstorming new songs.
In the end, the song underscored a remarkable story: the Christian musician recently shared that his back healed completely in two weeks.
“I’m pretty much convinced God would’ve healed me day 1 from all these prayers, but He wanted these songs & this testimony to come to life,” he said in the caption of an Aug. 3 Instagram video post about the recovery.
In the video, Frank shared that he “could not move an inch without excruciating pain” when he first broke his back. Exactly two weeks later, he woke up, forgot to put on his back brace, and picked up his son and realized that he was not in pain. Confused, he ordered an urgent X-ray and when he received it, it showed no fractures and complete healing.
“So praise God, we saw a miracle,” he added.
