CV NEWS FEED // New York City’s archbishop, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, will offer a Mass June 1 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2025.
Each couple must register for the Mass with their parish secretary, and they will receive a reserved pew that can accommodate up to 4 additional family members or friends, according to an Archdiocese of New York press release.
Couples will also receive a commemorative certificate, and those who cannot attend can request a certificate through their parish. Registration closes May 12.
“It is always a source of great hope as your archbishop when I am able to celebrate with families leading lives of faith,” Cardinal Dolan stated in the release. “Each year, I have the joy of welcoming couples who have been married 50 years to the Golden Jubilee Wedding Mass.”
The Good News Room reported that last year, of the more than 300 couples in the archdiocese who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, around 225 couples attended the Golden Jubilee Wedding Mass.
