CV NEWSFEED // California took custody of a Christian widow’s 14-year-old daughter to facilitate a “gender transition” against the mother’s will. In an interview with The Daily Signal, the mom detailed her and her daughter’s struggle with the state and with gender ideology.
The widowed mother refused to let her teenage daughter make irreversible changes to her body, according to the story published by the Signal over the weekend. Due to her refusal, the state took custody of the child, placed her in foster care, and accused the parent of emotional abuse.
The mother, who asked to remain anonymous, recounted her experience and stated that she “wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.”
In the article, the Signal detailed how the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services developed claims of abuse alongside the teen:
The Daily Signal reviewed Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services documentation in which a social worker, referring to the then-14-year-old with he/him pronouns and a male name, details the daughter’s time in foster care, her accusations of emotional abuse against her mother, and her later renunciation of the claims.
The daughter detailed how people online encouraged her to leave her family and raise false claims of abuse against her mother. After having left her mother, the daughter eventually tried to come home and make amends following her experience with the foster care system.
“She even admitted it to me later that she was influenced by people online who said you need to get out of your house if she’s not going to let you do what you want to do,” the mother stated.

Her daughter, however, called upon social workers a few more times when her mother refused to buy her male clothing.
After the daughter returned home, she called social workers on her mother a few more times, accusing her mom of abuse for refusing to buy her male clothing. The mother received a California Child Abuse Central Index (CACI) violation for declining to take her daughter to a program at the Los Angeles LGBT Center for LGBTQ+ youths ages 2-25 called Rise.
The mother detailed how her daughter’s behavior grew increasingly erratic while attending the program for LGBTQ+ youths, “I wasn’t feeling like that was really helping her, going to that center, because even when she was going to the center, I found that she was connecting with other kids, and her demeanor was even worse, even more rebellious, even more defiant.”
According to the Daily Signal, “At age 17, the daughter admitted to getting a prescription for testosterone from a therapist behind her mom’s back. She took it for a few days, but she told her mom she felt God was telling her to stop.”
When the mother no longer took her daughter to the LGBT center, she was again accused of emotional abuse.

“I made the call. I’m not going to drive you there. And that’s when the social worker wanted to interview me, and because I didn’t do that, I immediately got a second hit for emotional abuse.”
Eventually, the daughter expressed regret over her actions and renounced her claims of abuse. The family of two no longer resides in California.
“Once this was all resolved, I thought I had to get out of California, as much as it was home to me, and still is, to some point,” she stated. “I didn’t feel safe there raising my daughter anymore.”
