CV NEWS FEED // A pro-abortion U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website the Biden administration created was shut down less than a week before President Donald Trump took office Jan. 20.
The link for “reproductiverights.gov” now takes web users to a blank page that states, “This site can’t be reached.”
The site was reportedly last recorded “active” on Jan. 15, according to the outlet Raw Story.
Former President Joe Biden had announced the site’s launch in June 2022. According to LiveAction, the site promoted a so-called “right to abortion” and the falsehood that chemical abortions are “safe.” The site also promoted chemical abortion pills’ availability to be mailed to women and girls.
“The site promoted abortion and birth control much more heavily than any other ‘reproductive rights,’ such as pregnancy and parenting,” with the term “pregnant” being used only one time on the site, LiveAction reported.
In reaction to the news of the downed website, Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins posted on X Jan. 20, “Could this be the start of Making America Pro-Life Again?!”
In a follow-up post, she called for Trump to defund and debar the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.
Heartbeat International made an X post on Jan. 20 thanking the HHS “for removing a website guiding women to only one deadly choice.” The pro-life organization referred women who need genuine reproductive healthcare and information to the call center Option Line.
However, on the U.S. Department of Justice website, a page about a pro-abortion “Reproductive Rights Task Force” is still up. Biden’s DOJ established this “Task Force” in 2022 as well, according to Mark Lee Dickson, the director of Right To Life of East Texas.
In reaction to the downed HHS pro-abortion site, CatholicVote posted on X calling for prayers for a complete end to abortion.
