When asked what the Church needs most today, Fr. Roger Landry always responds: “Courage!”
When I think of courage, I pull from past experiences of standing up to a schoolyard bully or defending my faith in conversations with coworkers and family members.
Recently, we have seen the great sacrifice of the Nigerian martyrs this past Pentecost and the witness of San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone upholding Christ’s True Presence in the Eucharist.
Courage is a difficult and often costly virtue, but our society is in dire need of it.
In this video from EDIFY, Fr. Landry explains the Lord’s call to “be not afraid,” giving concrete ways we can practice courage in our everyday lives.
