CV NEWS FEED // The Archdiocese of Los Angeles will host the Catholic Communication Collaboration (C3) Technology Conference on August 6-7 at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California, focusing on the integration of new technology in education and ministry.
According to a press release, the annual C3 Conference, themed “ELEVATE”, will bring together educators, school administrators, and faith-based leaders from across the Archdiocese.
The two-day Conference will allow attendees to experience an environment that “combines learning, growth, innovation, collaboration, well-being, and connection.” It will feature over 90 workshops led by technology experts and archdiocesan leaders, including more than 10 in Spanish.
The workshops will address a range of topics, including innovation and creativity, well-being, tech-enhanced classrooms, and the integration of social media into parish and campus ministries, as well as the fundamentals of computer science, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
“With technology playing an increasingly vital role in education and ministry,” the press release stated, “the C3 Conference aims to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge to enhance teaching methods and strengthen the Catholic community within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the largest provider of faith-based education in the nation.”
The Los Angeles Archdiocese serves 250 Catholic schools with over 67,000 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12.
The conference will open with a prayer and welcome by Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles. Keynote speaker John F. Hollway, senior fellow at the University of Pennsylvania’s Positive Psychology Center, will address the intersection of technology and collective well-being.
“The C3 Conference promises to be a transformative experience, fostering a collaborative environment,” the press release stated. “By embracing technology and innovation, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing exceptional learning experiences for all.”
