CV NEWS FEED // Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone of San Francisco has invited the faithful to attend the Fons et Culmen (“Source and Summit”) Sacred Liturgy Summit, scheduled for July 1-4 at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, California.
The summit will unite Catholics committed to the Church and its sacred traditions with the goal of enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the Church’s liturgical heritage, according to the website.
Joining Archbishop Cordileone at the July summit will be Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Cardinal Robert Sarah, archbishop emeritus of Conakry, Guinea.
“At the heart of the Summit is the solemn pontifical celebration of the sacred liturgy, both Mass and Vespers,” the Liturgical Summit’s website states.
Attendees can also look forward to sacred music performed by a professional choir. Clergy members are encouraged to assist at the liturgies, provided they have letters of good standing.
The summit will feature lectures from prelates, clergy, and laity from around the globe, offering insights into various aspects of sacred liturgy, including its celebration, formation, and the sacred music, art, and architecture.
In addition to the liturgical and educational components, the summit will foster fellowship through shared meals and moderated discussion forums, with the goal of engaging participants in meaningful conversations about promoting sacred liturgy and liturgical formation within their parishes and schools.
