CV NEWS FEED // As she celebrates her eightieth birthday this month, American Life League (ALL) cofounder Judie Brown shared about her life, her encounters with “presidents and popes,” her pro-life work, and the crucial support she has received through her Catholic faith and family.
“As the cofounder of the 45-year-old American Life League, Brown has influenced presidents and popes, called out Planned Parenthood and the NAACP, and continues to shape the pro-life movement even in the post-Roe era,” according to an article published by Christian News Wire (CNW).
In an interview sourced by TC Public Relations and published by CNW, Brown shared about “her most significant achievement in life”.
“It was, and still is, being asked to marry the most remarkable man in the world, Paul A. Brown,” she said. “Without him there would be no children or grandchildren, no American Life League, but most of all no chance to witness the miracles of his faith being renewed and practiced. God gave me and our entire family an incredible gift when I said yes to Paul.”
Brown has been a pro-life advocate for decades, and she emphasized that her Catholic faith has been crucial in the work.
“I have been at the forefront of defending women who are not yet born, their moms, and their extended families,” Brown said. “I’ve sought the help of the Blessed Mother in doing all this for years. As Our Lady has taught us, humility and prayer are the core of our battle.”
The CNW article noted that Brown has worked extensively in favor of pro-life laws, and has “wielded influence over political and religious leaders, and drawn support from cultural icons as diverse as renowned conservative senator Jesse Helms and former abortionist Dr. Bernard Nathanson.”
Brown was also featured on television programs such as Oprah Winfrey and Phil Donahue’s, in which she “publicly shared her pro-life knowledge… with hundreds of thousands of viewers,” CWN noted.
Brown was also friends with President Ronald Reagan, and CNW’s article reported that this friendship “affirmed [Reagan’s] unapologetically pro-life views.”
She also served on the Pontifical Academy for Life under both Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, advocating for the sacredness of human life.
