The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), received top honors from the Catholic Media Association (CMA) for its official website, milarch.org.
According to a press release from AMS, the site was named the best diocesan website across both the US and Canada at this year’s Catholic Media Conference, held in Phoenix June 27.
The CMA praised the AMS site as a “stunning website” that is “neatly organized and professionally formatted.” Judges highlighted its visual clarity and thoughtful functionality, noting that it features “consistent and clean design across pages” and a “hidden menu” that improves navigation by reducing clutter.
“Each icon and visual element serves a purpose to engage visitors to the site’s content,” the jury added.
Credit for the site’s success was given to Margaret Betit, AMS associate director of evangelization and digital media, who oversees its development and management.
In addition to the website award, the AMS podcast Catholic Military Life took first place for best audio interview. The winning episode featured Father Marcel Taillon, former interim vocation director, discussing the military chaplain shortage and how the archdiocese’s Co-Sponsored Seminarian Program is providing much-needed hope.
In addition, the AMS Office of Public Affairs and Media Relations received an honorable mention for Best Press Release for its Oct. 4, 2024, announcement titled “Retired NBA Player Gordon Hayward Joins Catholic Church in Rome.”
