The man officially recognized as having the highest recorded IQ in the world has publicly professed his belief in Jesus Christ.
“As the world’s highest IQ record holder, I believe that Jesus Christ is God, the way and the truth and the life,” YoungHoon Kim of South Korea said in a June 17 X post.
The post has been viewed more than 14 million times since its publication. Kim, who was acknowledged by the Giga Society in April 2024 for possessing an IQ of 276, turned to quantum physics as a framework supporting his belief in God and the afterlife.
In a video shared on his X account, Kim expressed confidence that human consciousness continues beyond physical death.
“Our consciousness is not just brain activity, but it is something deeper,” he said. “Science says that when the brain stops, then, our consciousness disappears. Well, quantum physics says that information never disappears. Never. It only changes in forms.”
Comparing consciousness to data stored in the cloud, Kim proposed that it may not be confined to the brain and could persist in other dimensions.
“Quantum entanglement suggests that our consciousness is part of a bigger system beyond the physical world,” he explained, adding, “Some scientists and philosophers believe that our world may be a simulation created by a higher dimensional being, which I believe.”
“If this is true, then death is not the end, but a shift to another reality,” he later continued. “Just like a video game character disappears, but the player still exists. Our consciousness may continue in a higher dimension like this.”
Drawing on reports of near-death experiences, Kim noted how many people describe sensations of peace and warmth, or observing their own bodies from above. These moments, he said, “seem like moving from one system to another.”
“So, if reality is part of something bigger, then death is not the end, but it is a transition, shift to another reality,” he concluded. “Science is growing now and we are learning more about consciousness and reality. Our death is not destruction but change and shift. Humanity will keep searching for the truth about what comes after life.”
