Pro-life advocates with Students for Life of America (SFLA) are spearheading a national diaper drive to collect 392,715 diapers – one per child Planned Parenthood killed over the course of a year, according to the abortion giant’s 2022-2023 annual report.
“As the Pro-Life Generation works to defund Planned Parenthood and all other abortion vendors, we mourn the preborn babies lost, remembering each and every one by gathering 392,715 EveryLife diapers, in their memory,” Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins said in a June 4 SFLA press release. “This resource will be donated to families in need as a tangible way to support all who choose Life while honoring those no longer with us.”
The diaper company EveryLife, SFLA, and other pro-life advocates will gather on Capitol Hill for what SLFA describes as “the Nation’s Largest Diaper Drive and Rally” as a part of the Pro-life Generation’s annual National Celebrate Life Weekend June 27-29. The rally and diaper drive, which are scheduled for June 28, are cornerstone events for the National Celebrate Life Weekend, which also celebrates the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade and ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson.
Speakers at the rally will include Hawkins, pro-woman advocate Riley Gaines, former Planned Parenthood director-turned-pro-life advocate Abby Johnson, Everylife President Sarah Gabel Seifert, and other pro-life women. The speakers will underscore pro-life programs that are available and reiterate calls for Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, which has increased its yearly abortion death toll 7.5% in the past two years, according to the release.
“The Pro-Life Generation’s goal to defund Planned Parenthood and all abortion vendors goes beyond putting pressure on our politicians to do the right thing, by taking a little financial pressure off families to support them with life-affirming resources and programs that offer practical help,” Hawkins stated. “While this diaper drive is a large, singular feat, we hope it drives the pro-life movement to keep pushing Congress to defund abortion mills, hold up and encourage mothers and families, and be pillars of Life in their communities.”
