We’re standing at the gateway to something extraordinary – the most sacred time of the year:
The Holy Triduum.
Tonight, we gather for the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, commemorating the institution of the Eucharist: the very center of our faith. The lifeblood of our hope, the foundation of our worship, and the promise of eternal life with Christ.
“This is my body that is for you.”
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood.”
In the coming days, we’ll follow Christ. We’ll stand with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane, as He carries the Cross, and on the hill of Calvary. And, we’ll silently wait by the tomb, knowing that the dawn of Resurrection is near.
But remember: As we walk, we do not walk alone – we walk together in faith, united in the knowledge that Resurrection is near.
Why do we walk this path?
Because everything we do, everything we fight for, ultimately has one purpose: To make Christ known and loved. To pass on the truth of Jesus Christ to future generations: the Son of God who bore our sins, overcame death, and set us free.
I am humbled by this gift.
As we stand before the suffering Christ, I ask you for one thing: Let us pray together.
Pray for the Church. Pray for our country. Pray for CatholicVote’s mission. And pray that, in all we do, we may be faithful instruments of the Good News we celebrate in these days.
Christ carried the weight of the world on His shoulders – our brokenness, our sin, our pain – and bore it all to the Cross. He carried it for you, for me, for all of us.
May we all decrease, so that He may increase.
From all of us here at CatholicVote, we wish you and your loved ones a blessed and holy Triduum.
