
CV NEWS FEED // A Delaware diocese is holding a Eucharistic Congress in October featuring the Archbishop-elect of Boston as the keynote speaker.
The Diocese of Wilmington reports that Archbishop-elect Richard G. Henning will deliver the keynote speech at its Eucharistic Congress on October 5 in Ocean City, Maryland. The Archbishop-elect will address the Eucharist’s central role in both the worship and lives of Catholics.
The Congress’s theme is “The Eucharist: Source and Summit.” The Diocese of Wilmington states that its goal is “to deepen the faith and fellowship among the Catholic community across Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.”
The Eucharistic Congress will also feature praise and worship, Adoration, confessions, and breakout sessions in English and Spanish. It will end in the celebration of Mass.
The Bishop of Wilmington, Most Reverend William E. Koenig, expressed his excitement at the Archbishop-elect’s address. “The fact that his presentation will be just weeks prior to his assuming the important role of Archbishop of Boston, adds to the excitement among the Catholic community of Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. We are looking forward to his address.”
Pope Francis appointed the Bishop of Providence, Rhode Island, The Most Reverend Richard G. Henning, S.T.D., as the Bishop of Boston, succeeding Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley. Bishop Henning will be installed in the Archdiocese of Boston on October 31.
