Religious liberty is at risk now more than ever before in America. And while political and legal battles are crucial for the survival of our nation’s most precious values, the importance of culture is immeasurable.
So from the ground up, let’s show the world how beautiful is the sacrifice and freedom of faith. On Tuesday, May 5th, thank those who have dedicated their lives in service to the Church with the #ThankANun Day social media campaign.
#ThankANun Day was inspired by the new spiritual memoir Five Years in Heaven: The Unlikely Friendship That Answered Life’s Greatest Questions (Image, May 5, 2015) by John Schlimm. In his book, John recounts the heartwarming story of his five-year friendship with a Catholic nun, Sister Augustine, who even into her nineties helped him discover the true meaning and purpose of his life.
“For as long as I live, Sister Augustine will be one of the most extraordinary people I’ll ever know,” John said. “For me, she was a light in the darkness. A mentor. A friend. I know many others feel the same way about the special nuns who have passed through their lives as well.”
CV friends, join in on Tuesday! Are there any Sisters in your life who you’d like to thank? If so, get those #hashtags ready to tell these wonderful women how much you appreciate their loving service.
