CV NEWS FEED // According to polling data from several states, former President Donald Trump is likely to beat incumbent President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.
The RealClear Politics national poll found that Trump is currently polling at 3.6 points over Biden, receiving 47.9% of the vote compared to Biden, who is polling at 44.3% of the vote.
The national poll report is based on data from polls conducted across the country in recent days gauging citizens’ preferences for presidential nominees. RealClear Polling released that swath of data. RealClear Polling is part of the RealClear Media Group, which operates RealClearPolitics.
The polling firm compiles a variety of polling data from across the country to provide a balanced analysis of data trends. The latest information put together data collected from Bloomberg, the New York Times/Sienna, CNN, and others.
Trump’s popularity has increased in the past four months. On October 17, 2023, Biden and Trump were polling even, with both receiving 44% of the vote. That result was measured while other prominent Republican candidates remained in the race, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
RealClear Polling also examined how Trump was polling in key swing states that he lost during the 2020 election.
In 2020, Trump lost in Nevada, receiving 43.5% of the vote compared to Biden’s 54.3%. The RealClear Poll shows Trump now with 48.7% support compared to Biden’s 43.3%.
Arizona showed similar results. Trump received 49.06% of the popular vote compared to Biden’s 49.36% in 2020. But if that election were today, Trump would receive 46.8% of the popular vote compared to Biden’s 42%.
RealClear Polling shows Trump leading by a margin greater than 5% in three other key 2020 battleground states. In Michigan, Trump leads by 5.3%, receiving 46% of the vote. Trump leads in Georgia by 6.6%, polling at 48.2%. In North Carolina, Trump leads by 9%, receiving 49% of the vote compared to Biden’s 40%.
Both Georgia and Michigan went to Biden in 2020, with Biden taking Georgia by a slim margin of less than 1% and winning Michigan by over 2%. Trump won North Carolina, but only by 1.3%.
RealClear Polling shows two battleground states with a tight race between Biden and Trump in the 2024 election. In Wisconsin, where Biden won by less than 1% in 2020, Trump and Biden are tied at 45.8%.
In Pennsylvania, where Biden won in 2020 by 1.2% and Democrats again won in the 2022 midterms, RealClear Polling shows Biden leading Trump by just 0.6%, receiving 45% of the vote compared to Trump’s 44.4%.
