The month of June, now referred to as “Pride Month,” is a month when the LGBTQ agenda is shoved to the forefront of every business and brand.
Many claim that Pride Month is meant to celebrate “how LGBTQ Americans have strengthened our country, by using their talent and creativity to help create awareness and goodwill,” as one government website puts it.
However, it has now become a time when people and companies are viewed as hateful if they do not promote the political movement.
For Catholics, the month of June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Feast of the Sacred Heart is celebrated on June 16, 2023 – 19 days after the feast of Pentecost. The Sacred Heart devotion started in the 1670s when Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. The purpose of the devotion is to receive and return the love of Jesus with gratitude so that He may be glorified.
But “Pride” and Jesus’ Sacred Heart are obviously at odds. Pride Month promotes our individual wants and “diverse identities.” On the other hand, devotion to the Sacred Heart promotes humility, inviting the faithful to unite themselves to the suffering Christ.
As Catholics, it is time to reclaim the month of June for the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Here are five ways you can reclaim the month.
Consecration to the Holy Family
You’ve probably heard of the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus or to the Immaculate Heart of Mary or even to St. Joseph. But did you know you can consecrate your whole family? There are many resources and instructions out there to help you make this kind of devotion. You can consecrate your family to the Sacred Heart, or even consecrate your family the Holy Family of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus.
Go to Adoration for the Intentions of Marriages and Families
Find a parish near you that is hosting 24-hour adoration to pray for the repair and restoration of marriage and the family or sign up to host adoration at your own parish. If neither of these options is feasible, dedicate your own Holy Hour to these intentions.

Participate in CatholicVote’s Hide the Pride Campaign
Every year, public libraries around the country set up pride displays in their libraries, promoting an agenda that attacks the family and traditional American values.
CatholicVote holds an annual campaign encouraging people to go to their local library, check out all the pride books so that they are not accessible to youth, and submit a letter to the library board, disapproving of the pride display.

Wear Sacred Heart Apparel
Matt Fradd, host of the Pints with Aquinas podcast, launched a line of apparel featuring the Sacred Heart and the phrase “Reclaim the Month.” Wear this apparel during the month of June as a visual testimony to what you believe.

Resist the Dodgers
The Dodgers made a decision to honor the profane anti-Catholic hate group the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI) at the team’s annual pride night. After considerable backlash from Catholics and fans, the Dodger’s disinvinted SPI, however, days later, they extended their apologies and re-invited SPI to the event.
CatholicVote created an ad campaign to resist the Dodgers and shine light on the anti-Catholic bigotry the Dodgers are supporting.
