Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), is not known for having a quiet presence online.
The candid Democratic personality is known for his X posts, “off-the-cuff” remarks in the Senate Chamber, and eccentric interviews.
Although Fetterman is a staunch supporter of Democratic policies, he has recently made a favorable impression with some conservatives with his comments about the war between Israel and Hamas and … lab-grown meat.
CatholicVote has compiled a list of Fetterman’s comments that will have you saying “That just makes sense.”
Israeli Hostages Still Being Held by Hamas
During Passover, Fetterman made a point of speaking out on the hostage situation in Israel.
“With a somber Passover approaching, I remain committed to speaking about this travesty and acknowledge there can’t be true lasting peace until the hostages are home,” he wrote.
The senator used his X account to bring awareness to the fact that the hostages from the October 7 Hamas rampage had yet to be released.
Fetterman firmly placed the blame on Hamas. “We must never forget Hamas owns this entire catastrophe and can end this,” he said. “Send them all home and surrender.”
Rejecting Iranian University Offers to American Students
On May 3, Fetterman responded to a Reuters article about educational offers from Iranian colleges to American students who are protesting U.S. support for Israel.
According to the article, officials from the Houthi-backed Sanaa University made the offer to U.S. students: “We are serious about welcoming students that have been suspended from U.S. universities for supporting Palestinians.”
Fetterman’s comments on the matter are simple.
“If a homicidal, Iranian-funded, terrorism proxy wants to pick up your college education tab, you really, really might want to reevaluate things,” Fetterman stated.
On the Munitions Hold-Up
Fetterman has consistently exhibited a stance of support of Israel on X, much to the chagrin of his progressive colleagues.
In an X post from May 7, Fetterman criticized the Biden administration’s hold-up of shipments of precision bombs and munitions to Israel.
“I strongly disagree with this decision and it should be immediately reversed,” Fetterman wrote. “If there are any restrictions, it should be on Hamas, its enablers, and benefactors.”
Reviewing Protests on College Campuses
The outspoken Democrat appeared on Fox News on May 8 with Bret Baier to discuss the Palestinian protests on college campuses.
“I’m not even sure what they’re really protesting about. If you ask them, they’re not really sure,” the senator said.
The remark echoed his X post from May 1. “From the Columbia pup tent intifada or the January 6th insurrectionists’ riot, we must not pander to any political fringes,” the senator tweeted. “While I support free speech, democracy, and the right to assemble, I refuse to defend or excuse any devolution into chaos, anarchy, and violence.”
Agreeing with DeSantis on Lab-Grown Meat
In a post that has now garnered over two million views, Fetterman responded to an article by Vox that criticized his support of Gov. DeSantis’ latest legislation banning lab-grown meat.
“The beauty of democracy: people can join the pro-bio slop caucus, but I’m in the pro-ribeye one,” he wrote.
Fetterman had previously posted that he wasn’t pleased to find himself in agreement with the conservative governor.
“Pains me deeply to agree with Crash-and-Burn Ron, but I co-sign this,” the senator wrote. “As a member of @SenateAgDems and as some dude who would never serve that slop to my kids, I stand with our American ranchers and farmers.”
