3 years ago this week…
…the floodgates opened.
On February 2, 2021, President Joe Biden signed a flurry of executive orders calling for the termination of existing immigration policies such as “Remain in Mexico.”
“This is about how America is safer, stronger, more prosperous when we have a fair, orderly, and humane legal immigration system,” he promised.
More prosperous? Stronger? More orderly? Humane?
Today we’ve reached a point where even deep blue states (and many Democratic leaders) are crying “crisis” – acknowledging that our nation can no longer tolerate the chaos now underway at the border.
JUST THINK: Over half of the nation’s governors just agreed that Joe Biden “has broken the compact between the United States and the States,” as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott so perfectly stated it. Did you ever think you’d read those words in your lifetime?
But that’s not all…
Three years ago this week, Biden issued a memorandum slashing what he called “undue restrictions on federal funding” for abortion. His action brazenly ignored laws passed by Congress, sent millions of taxpayer dollars to abortion butchers like Planned Parenthood, and exported abortion to the developing world using USAID grants in a new form of colonialism.
I could go on.
But right now we must look forward.
The catastrophe of the Biden presidency must be stopped.
Since we announced our endorsement, I’ve heard from a lot of people – including some Catholics – who say, “Oh, I can’t vote for Trump.”
Or, “I’m sitting this one out.”
Or, “Catholics can’t support him.”
Their case against Trump is often personal. They don’t like his abrasive style, believing that a gentler, more restrained candidate could unite the country. To which I wonder, “are Democrats and the Left genuinely interested in finding common ground on abortion, gender, religious liberty, marriage, education, or…anything?”
And then I remind them of what Trump actually did while in office.
Have they forgotten?
While I wish the Biden administration had never come to power, he’s provided a helpful contrast to Trump on nearly every issue that matters. Trump’s policies cut abortion funding, protected groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor, lifted working-class wages, and of course, filled the courts (including the Supreme Court) with judges that respect our laws and American way of life.
The result: A more secure America, a freer America, an America for families, children, and faith – even an America better positioned to welcome actual refugees – an America where more children survive to be born, grow, and thrive.
Biden’s record is plain for everyone to see: record inflation, the world at war, chaos on the border, a nation divided, with the poor and vulnerable – and unborn – suffering the most.
Four more years of this are unimaginable.
Then again, there was one huge victory that you and I celebrated during the Biden Administration…
The end of Roe v. Wade.
A historic victory made possible because President Trump stood firm for his nominees to the Supreme Court in the face of the most despicable campaign of lies and destruction ever attempted.
I suspect Brett Kavanaugh might agree.
Sometimes abrasiveness may be just what America needs.
P.S. CatholicVote is all in to defeat Joe Biden in 2024 and put Donald Trump back in the White House. Can you chip in to help?
