CV NEWS FEED // Twelve-year-old Maggie Krotzer, of Bishop McCort Catholic Elementary, won first place in this year’s Catholic Daughters of the Americas National Education Contest with her song “Shine So Bright: A Lullaby for My Future Children.”
Inspired by the theme “How does my light shine for others?”, Krotzer took home first prize in the contest’s Division II music category, according to an October 17 report from CNHI News.
After Krotzer’s entry claimed first place at the local level, it advanced through the state competition to ultimately secure a top prize at the national level, after receiving “top honors in the competition,” the report shared.
Krotzer’s accomplishment was celebrated during a meeting of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas’ Johnstown Court on October 15, where she received her $300 award certificate and a gift.
