CV NEWS FEED // The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office in Florida announced that it has charged a suspect with the attempted murder of an unborn child.
According to a Facebook post announcing the indictment, suspect Haley Raborn admitted to obtaining an abortion pill online and attempting to have the mother ingest it without her consent.
According to the June 2 post,
On 04-12-2023, the victim, a female who was 11 weeks pregnant at the time, contacted the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office to report what she believed to be someone soliciting to have her unborn child killed.
The victim was contacted by her former fiancé, who told her that the suspect, identified as Haley Raborn, contacted the victim’s former fiancé and requested her to kill the victim’s unborn child. The former fiancé provided copies of Snapchat messages to the victim, stating same. The messages included premeditated instructions on how to carry out the crime. Further, Raborn offered to pay the former fiancé, with a pair of Air pods, once the request was completed. [sic]
According to the sheriff’s office, Raborn had previously been in a relationship with the unborn child’s father.
She has also been charged with “tampering with or fabricating evidence” in the case:
Through investigation, detectives determined that Raborn created a fictitious Facebook account, utilizing the victim’s name and photograph. In reviewing messages sent from the fictitious account, detectives determined the account was likely created to thwart this investigation.
Raborn was arrested on June 1 and her bond has been set at $105,000.
